To Find A Thing hidden or mislaid.
Consider to whom the missing or lost thing belongs;
If the thing belongs to the person asking the question (Querent), then the planet ruling the 2nd house is the significator of the thing.
If the thing belongs to the Brother or Sister of the Querent, then the planet ruling the 4th house is the significator of the thing.
If the thing belongs to the Father of the Querent, then the planet ruling the 5th house is the significator of the thing.
If the thing belongs to the Mother of the Querent, then the planet ruling the 11th house is the significator of the thing and so on.
If the ruler of the 2nd house is in any angle (Houses 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th), then the thing is within the house of the Querent.
If the ruler of the 2nd house is: (a) Conjunct the Ascendant or, (b) in the same sign as the planet ruling the Ascendant or, (c) in a house ruled by the planet ruling the Ascendant; then the thing is in a part of the Querent’s house which she normally visits or spends a lot of time.
If the ruler of the 2nd house is in the 10th house, then the thing is in her shop, if she is a Mechanic; or first room after entrance into her house.
If the ruler of the 2nd house is in the 7th, then the thing is in that part of the house where her partner or servants have most to do.
If the ruler of the 2nd house is in the 4th, then the thing is in that part of the house where the oldest person in the house sleeps or spends a lot of time or in the middle of the house, or in the most ancient part of the house, where either her Father or older man sleeps or spends a lot of time.
The nature and quality of the place where the thing is located is known by the sign the significator is in.
If an air sign is on the 2nd house or the significator for the thing is in the same Sign as the Part of Fortune, then the thing is in the Eaves or top, or upper part of the house or in the room where it is, or high from the ground if outdoors. If the thing is in a Field, Garden, or Orchard, it is higher than the ordinary ground or upon the highest hill or hangs upon some stalk of a Plant or Tree.
If the significator is strong and in water signs, then the thing is in the Buttery, Dairy, or Wash house or near Water.
If the significator is in fire Signs, then the thing is near the chimney, or where Iron is, or in or near the walls of the house.
If the significator is in earth signs, then the thing is hidden on the ground or earth, under or near some pavement or floor; If you find the thing to be mislaid out of the house in any ground, it notes near a Bridge or Stile where people come into the ground.
If the significator is going out of one sign and entering another, the thing is behind something or other, or has carelessly fallen down between two rooms, or near the Threshold, or joining together of two rooms, and is higher or lower in the place, according to the nature of the sign.

Sign on the house where the ruler of the Ascendant is found.
Sign on the 4th house.
Sign on the house where the ruler of the 4th house is found.
Moon’s sign.
Sign on the 2nd house.
Sign on the house where the ruler of the 2nd is found.
Part of Fortune’s sign.
The Sign shows the compass, whether East, West, North or South, according to the greater number of testimonies:
Fire signs: Aries- East, Leo- East by North, Sagittarius- East by South
Air signs: Libra- West, Gemini- West by East, Aquarius- West by North
Water signs: Cancer- North, Scorpio- North by East, Pisces- North by West
Earth signs: Capricorn- South, Taurus- South by East, Virgo- South by West
Having found the compass direction, the nature of the signs shows the position at the location. Air signs, above ground; fire signs, near a Wall or Partition; earth signs, on the Floor; water signs, near a moist place in the room.
